Sailing Course Online was designed and built by Urban Truant's successful IT consultancy business whilst the content was produced by the sailing instructors in our sailing business. The portal uses the latest content-management software giving us the ultimate flexibility to adapt and develop our courses, as well as having the facilities and vision to design new approaches to explaining theories.
The way people want to learn is changing and eLearning is proving an increasingly popular option for people with busy lives, where travel is not easy, live off the beaten track or simply want a more convenient solution. Urban Truant's Sailing Course Online software was developed specifically as an eLearning portal and is designed to work across all platforms and browsers. It only uses HTML and Javascript (no Flash), resulting in a system that should run regardless of your operating system / browser choice.

Tablet Platforms
As our system has been designed to work across platforms and browsers it will work as effectively on mobile platforms as it will on desktop or laptop computers. Please remember that the system is designed to be viewed online so you will always require an internet connection.
Mobile Platforms
Whilst our system will run very well on a mobile platform (e.g. iPhone and Windows Mobile, Android) the nature of the product is that you really need a reasonably sized screen to properly appreciate the graphics. For many of the topics (e.g. chartwork), you are unlikely to be able to effectively study these concepts whilst commuting on the train. For this reason we have designed a mobile view of the site that acts as a revision guide allowing you to revised the key aspects of each of the topics. If you log onto the Classroom from a mobile device you will be automatically redirected to this version.
